People in vulnerable situations or with disabilities, are at the heart of what we do

Our club supports many associations and prioritizes those that care for people with disabilities, whether social, physical, or mental.

Two remarkable individuals, brothers Jacques and Jean Bietlot, prominent printers in the region, from Fleurus and themselves victims of polio, were members of our club.

They bequeathed their assets and created a public utility foundation. Thanks to them, the Rotary Club Fleurus-Aéropole can offer assistance to associations. Every year, we submit applications and obtain significant resources to help carry out various projects.

Let’s mention, among many others:

  • ASBL Le Bois Marcelle, for accessible PMR access
  • ASBL Les Héliotropes, for the construction of the residence
  • ASBL La Tarentelle, for various equipment
  • NGO Fils et Logis, for the purchase of musical instruments intended for blind or visually impaired individuals
  • RASBL Relogeas, for a vehicle
  • ASBL Clerfayt, for a vehicle
  • ASBL Cyclocoeur, for four tandems that allow visually impaired individuals to ride sportively
  • ASBL Comprendre et Parler, ASBL Triangle Wallonie, ASBL Pierre Harmignies, as well as many specialized schools

In total, more than 130 associations have been supported in a few years.

With Rotary, we are building a more inclusive world and we have a lasting impact in our region.
